Bathroom Electrics from the Loft side

Its time to sort out the Bathroom electrics. The down lights, extractor fan powered mirror and shaver point need to be installed. But this loft is not very easy to work in at all with multiple trusses in the way it makes for a hard installation. I can only imagine the temperature in which you are working with.😮
Hi I recently put a garden lampost light in my garden. It has three lights on it and I'm using TCP ES A60 RGB & WHITE LED SMART LIGHT BULB 9W 806LM in each. And 5 meters of White 3-Core 2.5mm² Flexible Cable. Going into a block connector then three strands of Black 2-Core 0.75mm² Flexible Cable for the light fittings. Then I have it going into a three pin plug fitted with a 3amp fuse. Is this ok or do I need to do anything else. The block connector is inside the lamp pole off the ground. Thanks
Always great to hear tradies love using our job management software!
You are not meant to remove the silicone pouch, you leave it in, says so in the instructions. Eating it would be really nasty though yeah
What shims/packers did you use under the joists? Also, did you leave a gap between the joists and the wall or secure the joists to the walls? Thanks!
How do you waterproof it if it’s covered in water - Gel?
NIce install, Mate.
Fischer has special plugs for mounting to those polystyrene insulated walls: insulation fixing FID.
What on gods green earth is that first comment 😂
It’s a swarm of scammer bots.
Delighted with my Zappi EV charger, Mike (and your expert install of course). Cheers David
How do most of you guys still make profit, even with the downturn of the economy and ever increasing life standards

This is correct, Stephanie strategy has normalized winning trades for me also, and it's a huge milestone for me looking back to how it all started.
Yes, I agree with you. Her platform is wonderful, and her strategies are exceptional
It doesn't matter if you are a current hodler or a newbie. You can capitalize on the fluctuation of Bitcoin by trading with good strategy/signals
Could've gone through the software settings!! I can't get mine to connect to the app
Very useful video. Thanks for content
Any tips of why ours is still uneven
Just purchased a 4 year old new build. It has an EV charger installed using 2.5mm T&A, with a 25A MCB on the consumer unit. Charger has been capped to 25A using dip switches inside the unit. When I plug my car in, as expected it’s capped at 25A which is fast enough for me. Is this OK or should I be expecting a house fire? 😅
What size breaker did you use for the swa?
plastic dpc around the joist will speed up the rotting process .it should be reomoved and pointed up with nhl 3,5 so it can breath ,breathability is key .air vents air flow .
Not to many obviously's lol I was starting to think I was watching a seamstress at first, there is more "so"ing in this than on a seamstress's video lol oj
🤣 I don’t know why I do it 🤣🤣
Pretty sure regs state you dont have to earth the back box with a metal frontplate with a fixed lug. Just have to earth the frontplate. Obviously its good practice
Change your supplier he obviously doesn't give a toss about wasting your time dump them their are loads of suppliers in the community that will have your business. Go on name and shame them.
Metal fronted skt. behind something...you cant lose it...if you ever need to replace a faulty one , on show ...and range is no longer available ...//
So how would you do the earth lead if you were to install these same metal sockets into dry lining back box a plastic back box 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I thought for sure when the music started, I was going to hear you bust out with a rap. 🤣🤣🤣 Good video. The voice overs added to the texture of the production. Good job mate.
Thank you mate
No such thing as an easy, a job is only hard when we have no or few solutions or some idiot makes it hard
Sorry but why do you conform to wiring your lighting feeds to your switches where you end up with multiple connectors in your light switches which is ridiculous, as a recently retired sparks who worked in the industry for 50 years I only beleive in change when that change is warranted and sorry that change is stupid, sparks excuse is o what if the homeowner wants these modern switchless lighting you need a neutral there well sorry to put you straight you don't need a neutral there because you can buy ones that don't require a neutral, I had it hammered into me from a young age that you make sure that you keep connections in circuits to a bare minimum because I know modern sparks don't use this phrase but it's called good electrical practice, you see I spent most of my career as an Industrial electrician working with electrical clerk of works checking every inch of my installation which meant that everything had to be correct whereas you lads only inspect yourself, not saying that you don't do a good job because having watched your blogs it's obvious that you do a good job , what irritates me the most is these electrician bloggers slagging off ringmains in my opinion because they are basically lazy and only want to wire radials , anyway keep up the good work , but feeds to the light fittings
Why use mains voltage lights? Why not extra low voltage? Far better for the situation and safer. Also the only join that will never fail within the ground is a resin join really.
Had similar issues with Saxby walkovers within 6m of installation. Swapped the fittings for Collingwood and they've been completely trouble free for almost 11yrs. Wouldn't fit any other brand outdoors ever now
I hope you've still charged them for a day even if it has been a year or so. 3 - 6 months guarantee is adequate
Plastic grass, tiled patio, water can’t naturally drain away! No wonder they are wet.
You have followed the manufacturer's instructions?
I still don't understand why manufacturers make these 240v, if the fitting had been MR16 and 12v most of these issues would be easily and CHEAPLY fixable. And would not trib your breaker.
How would that explain the water in the light fitting. Would you not consider that the water is running past the light fitting running down the cable and into the joint only a suggestion. Could you jot run a bead of silicone round the light fitting before fitting it into its hole. Fyi LAP at screwfix have a 3 year warranty. Lol.
I have those connectors on my pond pump. The conical grip is against the gland nut.
Was the patio jet washed? The pressure is usually enough to blow the seals and drive water into these kind of lights.
Nightmare, I recon you'll be back again with those connectors. Any chance you can get some gel in them?
There are those that would say,, knightsbridge lights belong in the ground...😮 hmm.. SO how did the moisture get into the sealed lamp ? ah. ha 😊
Use the wago mini gel junction boxes 🤟also as said above always spec low voltage lights constant current lights are brilliant for the distance you can run them 🤟
I have had trouble with those connectors before.
Famous last words- the weather is getting better 😂😂 I feel your pain mate, garden lighting causes endless problems- seems the way to go is extra low voltage and make sure all connections are jelled. Annoying on your part as materials are failing which should be more than adequate to do the job.
I thought notching underneath a joist was a no no. Especially at it looks like it’s in the middle of a span.
Get floor down and get your money lad
What's happening with this job? Would be good to see other works
More content has been filmed just need some time to edit 👍
@@GreenHawkConstructionltd looking forward to it mate!
ffs, unbelievable how it was, goodness me. shocking. literally. sorry your day didn't go fully to plan but you're right, we just have to accept it and look forward to a better one
It's for the best... you have looked after the customer and are going by building reqs, Also you run a risk getting blamed for something which you didn't do, your gut instinct is normally the right one.
what a good call. i admire your honesty and thoughts for your clients you made the right decision.
Great content. Is it possible for a DIYer to do the donkey work prior to a qualified sparks finishing the job? I can dig a trench and fit sockets and run cable, but I obviously can't touch the consumer unit. Would an electrician be prepared to complete an outside wiring job, if the bulk of the work was already undertaken by a DIYer?
What did you use to shim up the joists?
You have made the right decision. Regroup and have the customer review the works that must be carried out.good luck.
Can I just ask a question when I was doing my electrical training as part of my multi skilled maintenance apprenticeship I was always told you always connect to source last after you have completed your install but in this video you connected it to the isolator with the tails first then completed the install if you by mistake or someone managed to turn the isolator on it could become live unless you have pulled the dno fuse why connect it first pal instead of doing the unit then connect to source after ?
